Arc proxy support for Defender for SQL Servers on Machines

Defender for SQL Servers on Machines now supports Azure Arc SQL Server instances with Arc proxy enabled, starting with Defender for SQL extension version 2.0.3585.403. Organizations that don't allow direct internet access from their machines can tunnel outbound communication through Arc proxy and use all Defender for SQL Servers on Machines features.
Arc proxy is an optional setting and isn't required for Defender for SQL Servers on Machines to operate if the networking prereqs are met. Learn more about Defender for SQL on machines prerequisites.
Version 2.0.3585.403 is available for manual update. Automatic rollout hasn't started, giving customers time to review affected resources and prepare for expanded protection coverage.
Extending protection coverage might add billable resources and affect costs. Review potentially affected resources and disable Defender for SQL Servers on Machines for resources you choose to exclude from this coverage expansion.
