Submissions Admin Review User Reported Messages

In brief

The documentation now states that default automatic notification templates use each user’s preferred Outlook language and are enabled automatically when automatic notifications are turned on. Custom admin-configured templates are unaffected.

What Defender admins need to know

No administrator action is required; users may receive default notifications in their preferred language.

Summaries are generated from the documentation change itself.

The reported message is marked with the selected verdict, and an email message is automatically sent to notify the user who reported the message.

When automatic notifications use the default template, users receive notification emails in their preferred language based on their Outlook language settings. Localized default templates are enabled automatically when automatic notifications are turned on. Localized templates don't change message verdicts, classification logic, or automated investigation behavior.

To customize the notification email, see Customize the messages used to notify users.
